Working during the holidays can be challenging in more ways than one. Not only is there the prospect of feeling guilty about working whilst the children are at home, but you are also faced with the pressure of keeping on top of your business so you don’t fall behind.

As a female entrepreneur with three young children, I have been conscious of the need to keep on top of my business to make sure I hit the ground running in September. I don’t want to waste precious weeks once the children return to school catching up and preparing for the next quarter.

Planning out your next quarter with your goals and what you want to achieve is essential. Not only does it give you some focus in your work, but it also acts as an accountability form. It is widely proven that writing things down and a little preparation can help you focus and achieve much more in your business.

Lead Generation

Have you got your leads in place ready to convert into sales? This is essential as building up leads takes time; spending time over the next couple of weeks nurturing those leads now can help you reap the benefits in a few weeks when you can close with them.


Many people go on about self-care and it may seem pretty obvious. We all know we need to look after ourselves but how many of us actually take time out to rest and recuperate? This could be anything from your summer holiday or a day to yourself, but by making sure you are well-rested and have had time for your body and brain to heal means that you will have far more energy come September when you really need it.

If you can spend the last few weeks of the holidays focussing on these, you will be ready to go come September meaning you don’t waste those precious first few weeks. Before you know it we will be in October and in full swing of the final quarter of the year. Good luck!
